How this result is worked out
Twenty statements, four for each of the five ways a thin month shows up: missing a crowd, being known by nobody, evenings that stretch, distance you keep, and always being the one who reaches first. You rate every statement on a five-point scale and the four answers for each pattern are added into a score from 0 to 100. Your highest score is the pattern you are leading with; your overall distance is the average of all five. If your top two land within four points of each other the page says so, because most people run two of these at once. The five patterns are UMBRA's own way of describing how the gap shows up — every statement and the scoring behind it were written by us, and no clinical instrument or third-party questionnaire was used. A high score here is not a diagnosis: loneliness is a normal signal that something real is missing, not a condition a webpage can identify.
What's inside the full report
- Your Distance Scorecard — all five patterns scored, and which one is really carrying the gap
- Your Pattern In Depth — what it looks like across an ordinary week, in plain language
- Your Second Pattern — the one that pulled close, and how the two take turns
- Where It Lands First — the moments it shows: evenings, Sundays, group chats, a quiet flat
- What It Looks Like At Work — the colleagues, the after-work, the lunch you eat at your desk
- What It Looks Like At Home — the flat, the phone, and the plans you keep not making
- Your Four Moves — small, repeatable things that put one actual person back in the week
- Your Next 14 Days — one small move per day for two weeks, built around your pattern
For self-reflection and entertainment — not a clinical diagnosis, not a screening tool, and not medical, psychological, or professional advice. Loneliness is a real signal and worth taking seriously: if it has been running for weeks, or it is arriving with a low mood you cannot shift, that is a reason to talk to a professional, not a reason to take another quiz.
