How this result is worked out
Twenty statements, four for each of the five ways people pleasing shows up: agreeing before you decide, keeping the peace, reading the room, apologizing for taking up room, and holding a clean line. You rate every statement on a five-point scale, and the four answers behind each pattern are added into a score from 0 to 100. Your highest score is the pattern you are leading with. Your steadiness score averages two things: how strongly the clean-line items show up, and how little the four pleasing patterns fired — which is why it can read mid when your two halves disagree with each other. If your top two land within one answer of each other, the page says so, because most people run two of these at once. The five patterns are UMBRA's own way of describing people pleasing — every statement, and the scoring behind it, was written by us, and no clinical instrument or third-party questionnaire was used. A high score here is not a diagnosis of anything: agreeing, smoothing things over and apologizing are normal and often kind responses, and a page cannot tell you what your history means.
What the full report will include
- Your Steadiness Scorecard — all five patterns scored, and which one is doing the work
- Your Pattern In Depth — the mechanics under the behavior, in plain language
- Your Second Pattern — the one that pulled close, and how the two take turns
- Where It Starts — the earliest place it shows: a yes you did not mean, a sorry nobody asked for
- What It Looks Like At Work — the version of this that gets rewarded, and what it costs
- What It Looks Like With Friends And Family — where it is hardest to notice
- Your Four Moves — small, concrete, ranked by what they actually change
- Your Next 14 Days — one small move per day for two weeks, built around your pattern
For self-reflection and entertainment — not a clinical diagnosis, not a screening tool, and not medical, psychological, or professional advice. If you are carrying more than a quiz should hold, talk to someone: a person you trust, or a professional.
