How this result is worked out
Twenty statements, four for each of the five ways a mind loops: replaying what happened, forecasting what might, reading what other people think, spiralling on a choice, and sifting what is worth keeping. You rate every statement on a five-point scale, and the four answers behind each loop are added into a score from 0 to 100. Your highest score is the loop you are leading with. Your loop load averages two things: how strongly the four looping patterns fired, and how little the sifting pattern did — which is why it can read mid when your two halves disagree with each other. The loop load is banded into four levels — Quiet, Settling, Persistent, Loud. If your top two land within one answer of each other, the page says so, because most people run two of these at once. The five loops are UMBRA's own way of describing overthinking — every statement, and the scoring behind it, was written by us, and no clinical instrument or third-party questionnaire was used. Replaying, forecasting, reading people and spiralling are all ordinary things a mind does; a high or low score here is not a diagnosis of anything, and a page cannot tell you what your own thinking means.
What the full report will include
- Your Loop Load Scorecard — all five loops scored, and which one is doing the work
- Your Loop In Depth — the mechanism under it, in plain language
- Your Second Loop — the one that pulled close, and how the two take turns
- Where It Starts — the earliest place it shows: a message you re-read, a night you spent deciding
- What It Looks Like At 3am — the version of this that arrives when you are tired
- What Other People See — the part of it that is visible, and the part that is not
- Your Four Moves — small, concrete, ranked by what they actually change
- Your Next 14 Days — one small move per day for two weeks, built around your loop
For self-reflection and entertainment — not a clinical diagnosis, not a screening tool, and not medical, psychological, or professional advice. If your thoughts are carrying more than a quiz should hold, talk to someone: a person you trust, or a professional.
